Fear The Silence

Today's the day. Everyone's (North, Helmer, Farage, Hannan) writing their own version of how sick they are all feeling, and what has caused things to come to such a pass that the British government can lie and break promises, and that few seem to care. The nation's existence is being terminated, finally, once and for all, and most people apparently couldn't give a half of one fig.

My take on these events is equally to feel sickened. To describe my feelings for Gordon Brown as hatred would be to err on the cautious side. I despise him totally. His fate should be appropriate to the treachery he has committed against his own country.

Writing to the readers of today seems a waste of time, given all the words that have already been expressed in defence of freedom by others more knowledgeable, all to no effect. I want to write instead to my infant son so he can understand why I left the UK to live elsewhere in the world, to a place where human life has yet to be crushed by bureaucracy. I want him to understand in twenty years time why he has been born into a different world to the one I decided to leave.

There was one moment of hope, when Britain might have been saved from the mind-numbing traumas it is about to go through. In 2003 there was a leader of a major political party in Britain who despite all media being ranged against him, and much else besides, had the courage to stand up and attack the propaganda and lies being disseminated by the Blair regime, backed as it was all along by Brussels. The 'quiet man' articulated a new relationship with Europe, one of independent democracies trading freely with each other. He stood alone against a media totally given over to naivety and corruption, working hand in hand to bring him down, the last serious resistance to what is now about to happen.

Into such a controlled and corrupt environment truth had little chance of being spoken, let alone heard. Lies about Iraq's weapons were propagated by Alastair Campbell and Blair. Kelly who tried to stop them by exposing the lies was eliminated, and Blair's lies to the subsequent enquiry were skipped over by a compliant and submissive media.

Even then, despite the evil being witnessed by a shocked nation, there was a chance. Iain Duncan Smith was able to cut through all the panoply of lies and media control to deliver a simple message to ordinary people, who instinctively trusted him. But when the media attacked him, encouraged by Portillo and a traiterous faction within his own party, the majority of his own MPs would not stand firm and show the lying and corrupt edifice ranged against freedom and democracy, that the bullying tactics of the corrupt would not be allowed to win. They failed to back him at the critical moment.

When IDS fell, Britain's last moment of hope was gone. If only 8 Conservative MPs had seen fit to stand firm, it might have been enough to shake out the rats that have infested Britain's democracy, and sabotaged it from the inside. Since that moment, bureaucracies have reigned unchallenged and supreme. It will now be a generation before a human voice, a single mind can take on the massed ranks of self-serving bureaucrats who are descending on Britain and the rest of Europe to extract their satisfaction.

Every spoken word will be controlled. Every child will be a statistic and no one will be able to walk unafraid of bureaucratic power, now unopposed across a continent of 400 million people. The human spirit will be progressively crushed until it is finally in silence screaming for release. Tragically there will be casualties in Europe's inevitable fightback, which will ultimately come once it has sunk into totalitarianism.

The lesson for future generations is that while politicians are jostling for power amongst themselves, and attacking each other, it might not make a pretty sight, but it is a sign that things are OK. You are safe. But once they have found a way all to agree with each other, and appear unanimous and orderly, it is time to not only be afraid but to get out and move away while you still can. Only trouble and big trouble can be the result, once power is concentrated into a few pairs of hands, with no way for voters to kick out the government, and all opposition cowering in silence.

Gordon Brown's Slimy Attack On The Vulnerable

The sending home of a few thousand care-givers by Gordon Brown in his efforts to look tough on immigration is going to backfire. The details of the story are well described yesterday by Richard North on the main EU Referendum Blog HERE.

As North says, Britain cannot do anything about the millions of EU immigrants coming to our shores, including many who have come into the EU from other parts of the world such as Brazilians who easily gain access via Portugal, or Columbians via Spain. Under EU rules neither are we able to repatriate seriously violent criminals, even when they have convictions in Britain, which prompted Cameron to promise the repeal of the Human Rights Act.

While keen to sign away all control over British affairs to Brussels under the new Constitution, and lose all ability to decide who will and who will not live in the UK, , Brown still needs to appear resolute against immigration, as he knows that popular opinion is concerned by the influx of so many immigrants, overwhelming our education, health, police and criminal justice systems. Always in search of a good headline, and especially now while stories of corruption and lies are becoming a normal daily event for Gordon Brown's regime (none of it anything to do with him you understand), Brown has found some suitable victims to fit his political requirements.

By making it illegal to pay care-givers from countries ike the Philippines a competitive rate, which has 2000 care-givers in Britain affected by this and about to lose their jobs, Brown has found a slimy way to push a small number of politically and economically vulnerable people out of the UK, to satisfy his own political requirements.

The damage his is doing to Britain's reputation round the poorer countries of the world does not seem to bother him, even though President Arroyo of the Philippines has just completed her visit to Britain, where she raised this issue with the Queen.

David Cameron must surely see that this is another area in which Brown's stealthy and slimy approach to managing our society is totally inappropriate, and it should be strongly and forcefully opposed. These people came to Britain in good faith to perform tasks they were asked to do for a set period of time. In the middle of their contracts, Brown wants to alter the rules so they are forced out of a job and have to go home. It is simply wrong to treat people like that.

If Brown wants to develop a proper immigration policy, and not sign away our ability to control immigration to the EU, then he should do so. He should not make victims out of couple of thousand Philippino care workers purely to get a good headline for himself. It makes you feel ashamed to be British.

Money - The Final Nail In Brown's Coffin

Just when people might be hoping that Brown's troubled premiership couldn't possibly be driven down any lower, an expert opinion from Bloomberg's London correspondent Matthew Lynn will send a shudder down Bitish spines.

It's not only bloggers and journalists who notice when governments look incompetent. So too do investors. Blair might have been less than competent at many things but he gave the impression to anyone who had doubts about Britain's economy, that all was well under control, and that sterling would be a safe haven for international investors who might prefer to hold it, as against the recently stricken US Dollar, or the uncertain Euro.

With Blair's departure, and Brown's clunking fist at the helm, it's not only Labour MPs doing their sums. (Current opinion poll levels would drive 100 Labour MPs from their seats - YouGov giving Cameron an 11% lead). Money people too, eyeing Britain's ballooning deficits, - both trade and fiscal pro rata are bigger than those of the US - its incompetent interest rate regime and the errors in handling the Northern Rock fiasco, are getting jumpy.

When money people get jumpy they don't reach for their laptops and blog about it, they just do what comes naturally. They sell. Sterling against the dollar has swung from $2.11 two weeks ago to $2.02 this morning. Have they started doing just that, one wonders?
Lynn writes as follows -
But what if sterling started to fall - not dramatically, but to a more realistic level $1.60 to $1.70?

If that happened, the United Kingdom would be stoking inflation:Britain relies on imports, which would become more expensive, if sterling fell. The Bank of England would be forced to keep interest rates on hold. It might even have to boost them to defend the currency. That would have a ruinous effect on the housing market and consumer confidence. It could tip the economy into a recession...

The effects of a falling currency could work in the longer term to many business' advantage of course, making British produced goods cheaper against the Euro - but short term there is one thing for sure. Brown's reputation for financial competence would be finally shot through.

In his current weakened state, Labour MPs might feel that enough was enough, and it was time to undo the error they made by allowing Gordon Brown to squeeze his way into the leadership unchallenged.

The Northern Rock fiasco will have a far heavier price tag than the UKL 30 billion ($60 billion) it has cost the governemt so far. Britain's reputation as the world premier financial services location will be damaged, let down by an incompetent government. Hopefully the architect of the mess will be done for at the same time.

Money is not politics. It waits for no one. If confidence in Brown is slipping away, and it is, the result will be savage. Matthew Lynn's article might have given a week's notice on what is now likely to follow. A falling currency will surely be the end of hope, and the final humiliation for Gordon Brown and the New labour era of falseness and spin.

Brown Hamlet? Oedipus More Like.

In 2003 Abrahams the central character of Donorgate, previously known as David Martin, got his lawyer to set up covenants to give money directly to Labour via money mules, who had been selected to transfer money to Labour as if the money were theirs.

In 2003, you probably recall that Labour were at the pinnacle of their power. It was the time that Campbell published dodgy dossiers, when Kelly was murdered and the media covered it up, as did the Hutton enquiry.

IDS was hardly able to lay a scratch on Blair despite his obvious tendency to bypass uncomfortable truths, and was later assassinated in October of 2003 by a media assault, no doubt encouraged, if not actually coordinated by Alastair Campbell. Gilligan and the BBC tried to get the truth out about Iraq but were sent packing. Labour were untouchable at that time, and to all intents and purposes were above the law.

There were no bloggers to start asking inconvenient questions or rally opinion. There was a compliant media carrying Alastair Campbell's narratives, unable or too under the thumb to set about creating any alternative explanations as to what was going on.

Property prices continued to soar. Interest rates stayed low. The consumer economy boomed.

In such an atmosphere Labour Party officials would have felt it was quite safe to pass laws and immediately set up systems to circumvent them, legally, or illegally - who cared? Who as going to challenge anything they did? That's how it was then. The good times rolled. Until Britain got bogged down in Iraq, Blair and Labour were untouchable. Truth was not required, or seen as a necessary part of the equation.

Hubris as we know from Greek tragedies, is always followed by nemesis. Arrogance (hubris) causes a person's own self destruction (nemesis). Mrs Thatcher, for example, was accused of possessing an element of hubris prior to her downfall - when she began talking with the Royal 'we'.

Gordon Brown is now being called a tragic character, but let's get this right. He's a Greek tragic creation, being cast down by his own arrogance, following on from Blair whose arrogance has already caused his nemesis, not the Shakespearian tragic figure as Powell predicted he would become.

As in all good tragedies, Brown is unable to see why his nemesis is occurring, where the forces of his destruction are coming from. They are coming from himself, as the audience/public are starting to see quite clearly.

Brown in his final act of hubris has promised change. This follows on from all his previous ones as Chancellor, for example claiming to be prudent and in favour of low tax, while secretly and stealthily removing peoples' wealth and opportunities. He recently promised an end to spin, a reestablishment of standards and to democratic accountability.

He has no intention of carrying out any of these latest promises, any more than he did his earlier ones about the economy when he was Chancellor. The Fates were kind to him for ten years allowing the economy to prosper despite his interventions, not because of them. In such circumstances his arrogance has become complete, and total, so that he believes lying is what he must do to succeed, making his nemesis inevitable.

To witness a fully functioning Greek tragedy in the modern age is rare. Normally such human folly gets cut down to size well before it brings its protagonist into a state of semi-madness. In the age of instant media, and communications, people can usually see a problem and stop it before it gets out of hand. Gordon Brown, though is the ultimate measure of how communication and morality had become perverted with Labour possessing so much unchallenged power in 2003.

They feared their enemies so little that they wasted their energies on fighting an internal war for supremacy within the government. Iraq was just a sideshow to the real battle of egos between Blair and Brown. The whole country was left adrift while these two demi-Gods slugged it out, jostling for immortality - the prize they both coveted.

Only now with the internet is a kind of truth starting to come out every day in the blogs, which government power cannot edit or control. But Brown's tragic fall is already in process. It is far too late to help him now. Brown wouldn't recognise the truth even if it jumped out and bit him. The truth is his enemy. He will fight it with every ounce of strength in his body, before collapsing exhausted and crashing from an unequal contest, the coming nemesis now inevitable.

Running A Government Is Like Running A Brothel

The flurry of excitement from bloggers writing about the events of the last few months is starting to dry up. There is a dullness descending on events. There is no dramatic tension, no sense of possibility, only the sure sickening knowledge that it could take a long time before Britain is freed from the slide into corruption and hopelessness that the Brown regime signifies. The only flurries of excitement come from news which means the Brown regime might end quicker.

Brown's flawed. He's not an actor, a showman, who gives out energy. He's a sponge who absorbs all the juices out of the people around him, as he neutralises initiative. He's a black hole. No one is allowed to shine bright lights which would immediately expose his dullness and slowness of thinking. He is there, not to give out to people, but to receive, to take in credit for the successes of others, and to deny responsibility for his own failures. He's the total opposite of a leader.

His understanding of people is non-existent. He thinks in money. He understands the language of donors giving and getting value. He thinks that public services can be treated the same way. Give them cash, and they will give service.

His understanding of business and enterprise is also flawed. He imagines the minds of people running businesses as calculating machines determined to produce the highest figure in profit that they can. He has a one-dimensional view of the society he is responsible for. He sees only cash.

People do not look only at money. They have other needs, emotional needs that are powerfully motivational - the need to give of what they have, to feel that their lives are worth something, to belong, to have an identity and a purpose, to feel secure and safe, to be able to relax, to take risks when there is a feeling of possibility, a prospect of creating something better than what has come before. To Gordon Brown, none of these emotions exists.

That is why he cannot manage. He doesn't understand that you look at the total picture, that before people need money, they need confidence to keep functioning, to keep borrowing, lending and building.

The Northern Rock is where Brownite philosophy declares its incompetence most loudly. First Brown and Darling allowed the markets to cease functioning, by not reacting to events, which killed confidence. Then they they intervened in a way that was guaranteed to bring crisis. And then they had no options available other than pumping in all the money needed to prevent collapse. Had they nurtured the confidence of the marketplace, of all the people involved, the catastrophy would never have happened. Now it's a UKL30 billion black hole which gets larger every week.

Brown is a tragedy for Britain. That's why Donorgate is biting so hard on the public's imagination. If people felt happy with how the country was being run, they wouldn't care much about the sleazy practices that Brown likes to engage in - as with the Smith Institute, and the maintenance of a few favoured cronies. After all Blair was little different in his deceitful fund-raising, but Blair, for all his faults gave out an aura of confidence, and enabled others he never met to ride on the tide.

It's because Brown's not giving people what they need emotionally, the confidence, the feeling of possibility, the feeling that someone cares about them up top (whether leaders ever do is a moot point, but some are able to make people think they care), and into this emotional void, the creepers and leapers see their moment to advance. They only have to do something to please the oversensitive Brown ego, and their advance and promotion is assured.

People feel the moral vacuum. They see the government milking good news as if they are the only issue of the day. This is why people will listen to anti-Brown news, while anti-Blair news never got very far. In all his years Brown has never learned how to seduce and that the customer has to come first.

Labour Corruption Hurts The Little Guy

Gordon Brown. 'Cannot remember if I met him'. 'Don't remember if I received money'. 'Cannot remember what bloody day of the week it is - but, nevertheless I want to develop a vision to run the country for another 15 years.' Slime. Graft. Lies. Spivs. Criminals. Jesus, what a pathetic hopeless useless godawful state Britain is in.

It starts right at the top from an administration that knows only how to lie, cover up, creep and leap. It goes down from there all the way to street level where Policemen, Councillors, Teachers, Health workers, anyone trying to do the right thing are giving up. Gangs and criminals are having a field day. Honest people are leaving.

I received this email from my tenant in West London this week. I don't need to add to it. He tells his story as well as anyone. It is ugly, I warn you and shows what was once a good country, is being allowed to become. Read the full text if you want. It's only a microcosm of the way collapsing government, and corruption is allowing things to develop in Britain.

I am posting this as the victims have disappeared, and I am worried about their safety and their whereabouts. Also those involved in the local Council might start to see the problens being created by their non-enforcement of the planning laws, or the Police by failing to enforce the criminal law, or even interview the criminals. Maybe by posting this story, some good will come of the situation, and an evil act be put right. A Police Officer or a Council Worker will have second thoughts, or realise this is a more dangerous situation than they first realised.

If you're not interested in the details, please move on and get back into the politics of other posts. There's enough depressing things to read at the moment anyway.

If you are interested, real life is not easy to edit. It's here in full. Labour Party donors are effectively bribing to win planning favours. That of course means driving out of business those who don't bribe, and who play by the rtules. I have heard of many parallel stories like this one, where government is either actively assisting criminals or is passively allowing them to build mini-empires capable and willing to pay bribes.

The stories coming out at the moment like Abrahams (of two names - also known as Martin) are finding corrupt individuals who have found that they can manipulate government to provide them with overriding power in their own backyards. That's worth paying for. The wider consequences of this lower down the tree, thouggh, how this affects the little guy, are not yet being thought of or focused on. Maybe the story below gives some idea of what many people are now going through - people who imagined Britain to be a fair=minded, law-abiding country, where hard work amd playing by the rules will bring you success. Think on.

SUMMARY -

This is a story of two ex-council flats, one on top of the other. The one above tapped into first the hot water supply, and then the electric supply of the one below. Both these acts are illegal, and against Council rules, and yet neither resulted in any action being taken by the Police or the Council against the perpetrators. (The Council even informed the perpetrators which individual had reported them - resulting in damage being carried out to a car).

The upstairs flat was a two bedroom flat, which is now a four bedroon flat housing up to 8 people. This is also an illegal alteration affecting safety and noise levels. Nothing has been done, or is being done by the Council. The floor needs sound-proofing after an incorrect alteration. A lawyer's letter was sent to the Council. They did not even bother to reply.

The people living in the upstairs flat are Polish immigrants some of who are working for their landlord. He has managed to persuade them to carry out a course of intimidation against the occupants of the flat below. This was reported to the Police, who did nothing. In fear for their lives and their safety, the occupants who had lived there for two years have now disappeared.

That's the summary. This is a mini-story, not one that attaches directly to Harriet Harman, taking filthy money from a crook, or Gordon Brown. But it shows how the culture of corruption at the top of British society, for which Gordon Btrown is responsible, is allowing the rule-breakers everywhere to leap ahead and crush the little people, paying off or threatening as they go. Britain has become a grubby grubby unpleasant dangerous place.

John Humphrey of the BBC might not be interested in hearing any more about labour Party corruptiom. Maybe he needs to start thinking of how this is changing the country he lives in, (and presumably still loves) from his privileges position of safety. Others are not so lucky.

23 November 2007. Miss J and Mr P H
        Flat 39 VVVVVVV House
       Somewhere
       West London

RE. the situation surrounding the discovery of electricity theft from flat 39 by flat 43 VVVVVV house, and reported to the council, EDF energy and the local police(CAD 4405 11/11/07).

Dear councillor/minister,

I feel I need to bring to your attention the problems my partner(XXXXXXXXXXXX) and myself(YYYYYY) have been having regarding neighbours who moved into 43 VVVVV house about 1 and a half to 2 years ago.

I know this is usually a local council matter, but if you can bear with me you will see that everything surrounding the problem isn’t as straight forward as it seems, and the end result is both mine and my partners lives are now endangered by a criminal gang that operates on the Alton estate. So far the council and the police have been unable to do anything, but I will go into that in detail later.

I feel I need to give you all the details, so that means starting back in April of 2004 when we both moved into the area and started renting flat 39 from Miss G(she is now back in her native FFFFFF).

Miss G was the partner(possibly marriage partner?) of the owner of flat 43, a Mr Chris Bovill. They had both properties with an eye to letting one out, which was the one we ended up renting.

The partnership with Miss G and Mr Bovill didn’t end well apparently and a child was involved so it got messy as these things do. During that period I would meet Mr Bovill from time to time and we would talk about this situation. I had known people who had gone through this and was happy to talk to Mr Bovill about it all. My own father had upped and left when I was young, so I did my best to console him that his child would always want to know whom its father was. Anyway I was nothing but a friend to Mr Bovil during this period.

My dates are a bit hazy, but about the time Mr Bovill moved out of flat 43 VVVVV house(end of 2005/start of 2006?), both my partner and I started to have problems with the new neighbours that moved in. They often played loud music until the early hours of the morning and during the day. I did contact the council about this on a few occasions and Mr Bovill (their landlord) directly, and this did eventually solve that problem. At the time of the tenants moving in we put up with lots of heavy DIY for a few months(which we didn’t complain about as it’s what happens in these situations),but they were drilling into heavy concrete a lot – and this is important for later on.

Then we started to be woken up early in the mornings by random bangs and thumps on the floor above our bedroom. This started to happen quite regularly until I decided to contact Mr Bovill again about his tenants and their behaviour. I have the saved copies of the emails. Things would get better for a bit, then start again with the same kind of problems, and is an ongoing problem to this day.

More recently we had been experiencing a small but steady leak from their bathroom into ours, this took about six months to eventually get sorted, but that was probably only because I had written to and spoken with Mr. Mark Grundy the estate manager and I suspect he hurried up that situation. Again I have most of the email correspondence that past between myself and Mr Bovill’s letting agent from that time.

I should make it clear that all through this time I had no idea that possibly Mr Bovill might be behind the problems so far reported, that didn’t ‘click’ until the most recent(and scary) events as described by the title of my letter to you.

About a year ago Miss G was looking at selling the flat, she spoke to us about it and alluded to some very bad behaviour on Mr Bovill’s part being the cause of their relationships breakdown, and that she just wanted to get as far away from him as possible.

She later sold the flat to a Z, about six months ago, who is now the owner of flat 39 and our new landlord. It was during this period I learnt that Z was an old childhood and life long friend of Mr Bovill’s.

He told me some rather sinister details about Mr Bovill’s character that I found hard to believe, and also explained that during the break up of Miss G and Mr Bovill, he had found he had to support Miss G due to Mr Bovill’s actions.

Z and Miss G are also scared of Mr Bovill, that much has been clear when I have spoken to them about him. Z told me Mr Bovill liked the excitement of mixing with shady characters, was prone to dodgy and illegal DIY, giving bribes and using intimidation.

I feel I’m now the subject of Mr Bovill’s attentions, and this brings us to the main current issue, and why I feel I need to make you aware of what has been happening this last week and a bit.

On the 14th of November I decided to switch of the fuse for flat 39’s ceiling lights to change the bulbs in the kitchen (which had a tendency to blow). As I did this in the daytime I forgot to switch the fuse back on.
That evening after I had picked my partner up from work we came into the flat (around 6pm) and shortly noticed hearing the light switches in flat 43 being flipped on and off, many times, in both the upstairs toilets, bathrooms and kitchen area. We could hear a girl doing this and speaking loudly (sounding confused) to someone else. They were not speaking English so I don’t know exactly what they were talking about. It was just something that caught our attention, as unusual behaviour from the flat above, we hadn’t heard it before.

Then I remembered Z telling me about Mr Bovill’s DIY tricks, and we have in our flat an example of an illegal water tank Mr Bovill had installed in flat 39 to connect it directly to flat 43 and steal the heating and hot water(this has since been disconnected, and I think the council know of it – it was before we moved into flat 39).

So I decided to leave our ceiling electric fuse off. During the next day I could again hear people testing the switches in flat 43. Then on Thursday evening(15th of November) around 7pm while I was making dinner I heard cables being ripped out of the floor above my head and lots of DIY started to be done in many of the rooms of flat 43.

I realised they had discovered I knew what they had been doing and were trying to cover it up.

So I did a bit of research on the Internet and called my electrical supplier(EDF) and notified the local police who gave me a CAD number(CAD 4405 11/11/07) and some advice.
The electrical company said as it wasn’t involving direct connection/tampering to the meter they were not interested, so I went back to the police and they said they could not do anything until the electrical company gave them a report. Catch 22.

I eventually managed to get EDF to agree to send someone (they were going to come on Wednesday), then that fell through when I called them back to tell them about all the DIY work going on in flat 43. As my bills are not high and I’m a good bill payer, they decided not to pursue it further. It wasn’t about the money for me, running of the ceiling lights would limit the amount of heavy-duty electrical appliances they could run of their illegal tapping. I suspect that was why it was just the light switches we kept hearing being flipped. Maybe over the year and a half it might have cost me an extra £150-200 in bills. So the money wasn’t the issue – more the illegality of it.

I did seek advice from British gas about this also, they were quite surprised that EDF didn’t want to investigate, but they could not help me not being my supplier.

All over that weekend, and on and off until present they continue to do spots of DIY work to cover up the evidence, that’s my strong suspicion. I did contact the council to send someone around to witness the work(just so it wasn’t just my report of it). Sadly by the time they came around on Sunday the 18th, all noise from flat 43 had stopped. They told me that as these were both private lets they couldn’t actually get involved.

Since reporting this all to the council offices in 38 Holybourne Avenue on the morning of Friday 16th I have not heard anything from them. When I made that report I also suggested that as Mr Bovill owns various properties on the estate, most of which he lets out via his company Speedlets(used to be Ezylets), it could be possible that these properties might also have been tampered with in the same way flat 39 had been.

The residents in flat 43 are Polish builders he uses to work for him in doing up his properties, and I understand many of his tenants are from Eastern Europe. I don’t bring this up for any other reason than to make it clear it is from these people that I now feel threatened, and a conversation I had with a local police officer(I foolishly didn’t get his name) looking into the CAD report I had made was quite odd.

He basically said that as an experienced officer of 15 years who had dealt with this kind of thing before, I could count myself lucky, due to the fact that nothing ‘worse’ had not happened to me yet! And maybe if I left the issue alone, they would leave me alone!
I think I’m going to take that up with the police complaints board, because if anything the advice I was getting from that officer was surprising. He said things like “what does your girlfriend think about this?” and now I’ve had time to go over that conversation, it was completely inappropriate because in effect he was telling me that as EDF wouldn’t be looking into it, the police couldn’t do more and I should worry about the safety of both myself and my girlfriend. This just doesn’t sound right to me after reporting a crime that carries a 6-month to 5 years sentence(stealing electricity) if proven.

I only know the first name of one tenant in flat 43, Bart(no idea if it’s his real name). He is the only one of 5-6 tenants I’ve seen in flat 43 that seems to speak English, and it was usually him I would deal with over the leak problem etc. He drives two cars, a green metallic VW Golf reg: S979 OVP, and a black Peugeot 206 reg: LG53 HCF.

On Monday evening while going to the bus stop to pick up my partner, he must have been waiting for me to leave the block, and drove like a lunatic to get in front of me so he could turn around to drive towards me and make a threatening gesture. It was dark and his lights were on, but it did look like he made a ‘pistol’ gesture at me as he drove by. I only noticed because a few people at the bus stop were looking at his car in interest, I assume because he was racing it hard to be able to turn around to be on the right side of the road to gesture at me.

Since then I have not seen either of his cars around the VVVV house block, although I believe he is still in flat 43 due to the banging on the floors + occasional DIY etc.

Again I know this should all be dealt with on a local level, but to be honest the response I’ve got(or lack off) through much of the issues around flat43 has raised my eyebrows somewhat, and I do wonder if Mr Bovill’s bribery allegations might be true. I think if you decide to take this issue up this may be of interest in itself.

What it all boils down to I now suspect is Mr Bovill wishing to make it difficult for first Miss G and now Z to let out flat 39. The break up of Miss G and Mr Bovill may have pushed him over the edge, and now anyone in the way of his anger over this is in danger.

All I wanted to do was to report a crime, now a very murky situation has evolved that I don’t really have the resources to deal with(courts/lawyers etc). No crime has been proven to have taken place, but now we are both stuck with intimidation from Mr Bovill’s gang, and no one to offer help or assistance so far.

We have both been pretty terrified these last few days, I now accompany her all the way to her work place, and back again home in the evenings.

Please take this letter as serious as it sounds, I just have a feeling that until the activities of Mr Bovill and his Polish gang are properly looked into(and possibly not just on a local level) other people are going to suffer. I suspect, all sorts of illegal activity would be uncovered – the pieces that have now fallen into place for me just point in that direction, and the reactions so far from the residents of 43 might indicate the same.

Yours earnestly and in good faith,

X and Y

THREE LOCAL POLITICIANS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE CASE – MP Justine Greening , MEP Gerard Batten AND A LOCAL COUNCILLOR. THE COUNCILLOR AND Gerard Batten MEP HAVE REPLIED OFFERING TO HELP BUT ARE NOT SURE WHAT THEY CAN DO. AS YET NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN BY LOCAL POLICE OR WANDSWORTH COUNCIL.

SINCE SENDING THIS LETTER, BOTH X AND Y HAVE DISAPPEARED. NO DOUBT WISELY PUTTING SAFETY ABOVE ANYTHING ELSE. THEIR MOBILES DON'T ANSWER. THEIR EMAILS DON'T REPLY. OR AT LEAST I HOPE THAT IS THE REASON.

Brown Ensnared By Internet Revolution

Gordon Brown yesterday claimed he cannot recall meeting Abrahams.

Of course Brown knows that he knows Abrahams.

Brown is lying.

We are witnessing an amazing outbreak of mass selective amnesia, affecting the PM, the Deputy PM, Abrahams and all those in the Labour hierarchy who have known Abrahams as a key labour donor for the last four years. His association with the Party goes back to the 1990s where he was known to all, including Gordon Brown.

The media cannot cover up this story for Gordon Brown as they would have done for Blair just a few years ago, as the blogs are 100% onto this, Guido to the fore, Dale close behind, but with hundreds of others alert and watching every step of the unravelling stink.

The only question in my mind is - Will Brown be the first PM to be blogged into extinction?

I doubt Blair would have survived all his lies throughout his period as PM had the blogs been going then like they are now. The power of the MSM to keep another Blair in office for ten years and hide the truth from the public can surely never be the same. There can never be another Alastair Campbell or Mandelson able to control the 'narrative'.

In fact the opposite appears to be the case and the MSM are keen to join in the emerging blog-fest. The Spectator as in above link are leading the charge. Adam Boulton on his Sky blog seems to want a piece of the action. And Finkelstein from timesonline is obviously keen to be in at the kill. The Telegraph is writing multiple angles on the story too - online.

Under Blair pre-blogosphere, none of these would have dared to go out on a limb too far away from the rest of the media pack, and corruption stories like Blair accepting UKL1 million from Formula 1, for example fizzled out very quickly after a strong denial from Tony on TV. Now the opposite is happening. The blogs keep the stories alive. The MSM don't want to left out of the blog-party, and allow Guido and Dale to steal all their customers, so they are out there competing to blog Brown's indiscretions.

While democracy is in severe danger in Britain at the institutional level, it seems to be breaking out in rude good health again via the web, and from there slowly back into the MSM, although the die-hard BBC still has a way to go before rediscovering the fact that there are people outside the BBC who exist and have knowledge and good ideas, and that some of them are Conservatives. David Cameron's small government policy will fit in with all this just fine.

But Brown and his attempt to run a New labour style media machine cannot possibly keep on going much longer. He is totally discredited, and has become an embarrassment to watch and listen to.

It was Brown's idea that technology was the primary cause of economic growth (his neo-classical endogynous growth theory), and not the drive and skill of business people. Maybe it's time he realised that the technology he believes in, is also changing politics. Harold Wilson said 'a week s a long time in politics.' In the new era of internet blogging, a few minutes can be enough to reposition a whole debate. Things like this extract from the Huntsman's post below for example -

The BBC are still a good news organisation - but not yet able to move into the internet age of immediacy. People said that 24 hour news had changed the way the world worked. It did. But it's as nothing to how blogs are moving the initiative away from the centralisation and bureaucracy of worldwide news organisations, where the same bulletins are repeated verbatim hour by hour throughout the day. Brown is not being scuppered on the BBC. He's being done for by individual bloggers all working in a linked informal network, who can check on his every word within minutes of them being spoken. As yet the Beeb, CNN and the like cannot and are not competing.

The pulse of broadcast news, which not long ago seemed to be leading the informational race, beats every few hours. Government spokesmen can keep up, and be an hour ahead even, feeding their narratives to influence the news bulletins. Blogs however pulse by the minute. Spin-meisters don't have a chance of regaining position, once it is running away from them..

The BBC reports the Abrahams story thoughtfully, as if a little bit removed from its viewers and readers and contendedly behind the pace of events, as if that is enough to be treated as a superior voice. It used to be. But bloggers now write to their readers as equals sitting together in the same room with immediacy, their only deference being to the truth. Politicians and media employees are seen as no better than anyone else, regarded as an entirely expendable commodity if they are found to be lying or cheating.

BBC - Why, for example, did some party individuals spot the dodgy donations while others did not and, as a result, is Ms Harman safe in her post? (Mr Brown took some coaxing on that last one, but finally made it clear he had full confidence in her).

And how could it be that the party's general secretary Peter Watt not know what the law, introduced by his own government, was or fail to keep the prime minister in the loop - particularly after the secret donations at the heart of the cash-for-honours affair?

Was it not the case that these donations were a secret kept within a small group of senior Labour figures - something flatly and robustly denied.

It has to be said, there was an air of disbelief when the explanations were offered to the media, and the opposition parties still remain unconvinced and continue to press for more comprehensive answers.

i.e. BBC speak for Brown is lying.

The problem is when you lie and no one believes you is that your credibility is gone. This might not yet be the end of Brown's period in office. But it's surely the end of his period in power. And when Brown eventually goes, the world too will be changed. He will be the very first British PM that was blogged to extinction.

George Osborne, Shadow Chancellor is of the opinion that Brown's fall will be coming quicker than we think, the knife to be wielded from within his own ranks.

Who's Behind The Madeleine Abduction Cover-Up?

The Portuguese Police knew a lot more about Madeleine's disappearance than they admitted, it is now becoming clear. They have been lying all along. They have fabricated allegations against the McCanns when there was good evidence right from the start that an abduction had taken place.

Portuguese politicians have a habit of keeping quiet about paedophilia, and the Police were unlikely to have been suppressing the true facts about Madeleine's abduction without authorisaton from higher up the tree.

Apart from the work being done to find Madeleine by the McCann's private detectives who claim to be close to finding her, there should be a second enquiry going on. How high up in the Portuguese hierarchy did the cover-up go?

Daily Star Readers Cannot Believe The Truth About Madeleine

Sin1
The problem for the public is that most have little understanding about paedohiles, and the whole idea that a paedophile might wish to abduct a small child, to a normal person seems unlikely.

Paedophiles vary in their preferences, but many desire to carry out sexual acts with babies, and very young children. They will go to great lengths to satisfy their yearnings, getting jobs where they have access to their targets, getting married so their wives will provide them with what they desire, and if they are able to, they will pay large sums of money to get access to an abducted child.

The incredulity of the public is easy to manipulate, and that is what the Portuguese government is depending on, in its accusations against the Mccanns.

They have used the tactic of accusing the victim before, in other cases, as a way to bring a halt to public concern.

There is, however no credible evidence that the McCanns were involved in their own daughter's death, although this has been successfully created as a blind alley to hide the more likely explanation for M's disappearance. Despite this, most of the comments from Daily Star readers about Madeleine's disappearance seem to be unsympathetic to the parents.

The Police have played around with a succession of news releases to bamboozle the public, but at the time when real evidence might have been acquired, when Madeleine's disappearance was first reported, they ensured that it was all destroyed.

There is a cover-up going on, and a campaign of black propaganda against the victims of this crime.

For the public it is easier to believe the lies of the ongoing cover-up than face up to the sickening truth.

That's why paedophiles succeed - the inability of 'normal' people to believe what they do. Only if the public starts to get its head around what paedophilia is, and what paedophiles do, will future Madeleienes be saved.

The continuation of public ignorance and preference not to believe, all make the paedophile's job easier. It's time for the media to get tough with Portugal and its paedophile cover-ups which have gone on for decades. Toleration of paedophilia must cease.....everywhere..and so too must the tendency to look the other way, and find alternative explanations for what is the cruellest of crimes.

Once 'Maddy''s are abducted, they are usually not seen alive again. They are kept for as long as they are required.

The Power Of Positive Thinking

Sunburn, boats, coral reefs - it's beach time in the Philippines, surrounded by a mix of other nationalities - Philippinos, Saudis, Belgian, French Canadian, German, Australian, French, Swiss, South African and Brits. It was my 53rd birthday yesterday. As they sang last night at the Yacht Club Bar - Freeze A Jolly Good Cello.........enough. A political thought managed to penetrate the relaxed atmosphere, after reading Dan Hannan on CH. (pictured above with Roger Helmer at the London Referendum Rally) It is noticeable reading Roger Helmer in his monthly newsletter, and Daniel Hannan on CH yesterday that they are playing an interesting strategy. With the EPP, they continued praising and supporting David Cameron, even after his apparent climbdown on the original promise, and kept repeating and trusting his promise of eventual withdrawal, when others were openly expressing doubts and disappointment that the promise would be or had been abandonned. No one can have been more disappointed than them than the two MEP H's, but they kept their own doubts buttoned up, and never once publicly doubted Cameron's commitment to his promise, leaving it to others others express their fury and disappointment when the promise was delayed. Cameron is now after many doubts, sticking to the withdrawal from the EPP policy. It will just have taken an extra four years to get delivery on the promise than he suggested at the time of the leadership election in 2005. The Helmer/Hannan strategy of loyalty to Cameron seems to be paying off. Now they appear to be doing the same on the 'cast-iron' (always more brittle than it sounds) Referendum Promise from Cameron on 26th September, published in The Sun...that any powers being transferred as a result of these (Constitution) negotiations would be subject to a referendum if he were to win power. Hague again has gone some way to watering down the promise, just as he did over the EPP. Hannan and Helmer are again, carrying on as if nothing, just applauding Cameron and repeating his promise as if the watering down was not happening, just as Helmer especially did over the EPP. I guess they saw their strategy work in the end as regards the EPP, and I imagine they hope to achieve the same with the latest Cameron EU promise, which appears to be similarly threatened. Cameron met Merkel recently, and while insisting that the Conservatives would indeed be quitting the EPP, he promised her that, as a result, we would make better neighbours than tenants. I wonder if a similar phrase will be used by Cameron again in the negotiations about the Constitution, subsequent to its ratification, and to a Conservative General Election victory. Helmer and Hannan seem to think he will. Ignoring the watering down of the promise might again prove to be their best and most effective strategy. To read Roger's monthly e-mail newsletter, which I recommend, you can order it at roger.helmer@europarl.europa.eu UPDATE - A biproduct of the 'loyalty' strategy is that the BBC have to fabricate some disloyalty, which reconfirms them as liars, and in the wrong on this issue. UPDATE. One MP notes that the first UK referendum on the EU was subsequent to the Treaty being ratified by Parliament.
